(GREEN PEAS AND HOMEMADE INDIAN CHEESE IN SPICY TOMATO SAUCE) vegetarian

Spice Mix 1 tsp fennel powder 1 tsp ginger powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp sugar 2 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Mutter Paneer 2 - 3 Tbsp oil 1 tsp cumin seed 1 medium onion, finely chopped or grated Spice mix (above) 1 tsp salt 2 - 3 Tbsp tomato paste 2 c frozen peas, defrosted and cooked for 3 minutes in microwave 2 c water 2 Tbsp yogurt, whipped (or use half and half or cream) 1 tsp garam masala 1 c diced paneer (store bought or home-made)
Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add cumin seeds, let them sputter. Add onion, over medium heat stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Add mixed spices and keep stirring for 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt. Add 2 Tbsp tomato paste and stir until oil separates. Add peas and water. Cook over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add yogurt, garam masala and cheese. Carefully stir. Garnish with cilantro.
