Pumpkin Biscuits with Orange Honey Butter

• 2c all-purpose flour
• 3T sugar
• 2t baking powder
• 1t ground cinnamon
• 1/2t baking soda
• 1/2t salt
• 1/4t ground nutmeg
• 1/4c (1/2 stick)chilled butter, cut into small pieces
• 1/4c buttermilk
• 1/2c canned pumpkin

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups and level with a knife.  Combine flour and next 6 ingredients; cut in chilled butter with a pastry blender or in  food processor. Combine buttermilk and pumpkin; add to flour mixture, stirring just until moist.  Using a spoon or small scoop, drop biscuits on a stone or baking sheet coated with cooking spray.  Bake at 450 degrees for 11 minutes or until golden.  Serve warm with Orange-Honey Butter.

 

Orange Honey Butter
• 1/2c (1 stick) butter, softened
• 1/2c honey
• 1/2t grated orange rind

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until well blended.  Store in refrigerator.
