Late one evening, Jeff "Puff" Irvin, an ISU Biology graduate and Ames bar owner Scott “Griff” Griffen sat dreaming over beers. After much discussion the dream came into focus and Jeff decided to attend the master brewer’s program at the University of California at Davis. When he returned to Ames, the brewery was waiting for him.

In addition to Olde Main's regular full-flavored line up of beers that take names from Iowa State and Ames' history they brew unique seasonal varieties. Head down to the brewery on Wednesday nights for $1 pints to try these!
